We are able to perform minor procedures in the office under local anesthesia.
Other procedure/ surgeries requiring sedation or general anesthesia will be performed in the hospital.
Dr. Hampton has privileges at several hospitals. The scheduling staff will give you specific instructions.
Since this procedure is performed with local anesthesia, you will not be required to NPO or nothing by mouth. You can choose to have someone bring you or you may drive yourself home.
If your procedure is being done in the office, you will need to bring in your films if you didn’t leave them with us during your first visit.
If you are having a biopsy done at the hospital you must bring your films or a CD with the images.
Dr. Hampton only gives pathology results during an office visit. Results are not given over the phone. Results are usually ready 2-3 days. You may bring a friend or relative with you to receive the results.
Upon receiving a surgery date, you will need to have labs and/or other testing based on your age and medical history. Most pre-operative preparation can be done by your Primary Care Physician.
